Course Description

Programme Planning and Controls Professional is designed to take students to the highest level of practical application by introducing a full range of techniques across the range of programme and project management disciplines and procedures in the specialist area.

The course is specifically designed to address the gap where there is no development between the generic best practice qualifications and higher education.  The materials in this course are also used in our degree courses, and although the assessment models are different, students will gain the same knowledge, for more details of our professional development programmes click here.

The price for this course is £650 which excludes ILM assessment fees of £450 per head

Who is this course for?

The “Professional” series of courses are specifically designed for people using Competency Frameworks, e.g. PDCF or APM. Individuals will already experienced Practitioners and are seeking to gain knowledge to move up the ladder.

Anyone with an interest or involvement in a programme or project will benefit from the course content. The specialist course is designed for leaders and managers who have a practical knowledge of the practices and wish to develop a deeper understanding because:

  • They are Leaders and managers who have responsibility for the delivery of a portfolio of projects or programmes working in the portfolio environment.
  • They own a key process or professional discipline and wish to have a deeper understanding of the associated techniques to improve business performance.
  • They are a Senior Business Owner or Business Change Manager and wish to be fully equipped with the range of skills needed to deliver a major change
  • They have a management role in a PMO (Portfolio, Programme or Project Office) and want to support and improve the performance of their organisation.
  • They are a project manager with responsibility for delivering a capability and wish to understand the wider challenges of achieving outcomes and benefits.
  • They are programme managers who are new to the role and who wish to accelerate their development through increased understanding.
  • Their organisation is using a competency framework (e.g., PDCF or APM) and they wish to prove they have achieved the competent and proficient levels.
